Hummer is brand of truck owned by AM General. In 1992 the company began selling civilian versions of military truck M998 which are known as HMMWV or a Hum-Vee that stands for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle.
Very soon the city versions of M998 became very popular and were talked about every where.
Popularity of Hummer trucks made General Motors to purchase the brand in 1998 and GM now marketed three Hummer brands which included Hummer H1 which was based on the military Hummer, then came the Hummer H2 and lastly the most city version Hummer H3 which was based on GM’s other smaller SUV platform.
It was early 2000 when the sale of Hummer trucks was on a high. Hummer became popular in the pop culture, on the silver screen and among celebrities including politician Arnold Schwarzenegger. [...]
