Mainship Boats Company was established in the year 1930 by German immigrant named Henry Luhrs. He started marine trade by supplying ships and yachts in New York City harbors and hiss grandson was also called Henry who was also fond of ships. They continued the family heritage by repairing and producing boats on the coast of New Jersey which later led to the formation of small yard in Morgan, New Jersey. Since then, Henry Luhrs Sea Skiff Company grew and Henry’s sons named Warren and John also got involved in the company for producing more than 1200 boats annually. In the year 1965, Bangor Punta, a large timber company gave Henry the offer which was refused. The two sons Warren and John struck out of the company and formed another firm called Silverton Marine Corporation.

Century Boats is a leading American manufacturer of racing boats which was found by two brothers named William and James Welch in 1926 in Milwaukee. In the year 1928, the company was loved to Manistee, Michigan from where it operated for around 60 years and by 1937, company manufactured and launched 28 different models to select from. During Second World War in 1940s, company got a contract for producing 3600 vessels. By 1950s, company had more than 343 authorized dealers and in 60s, company produced 45 jet powered boats and motor yachts. In the year 1983, company opened a new manufacturing plant in Panama City, Florida and in 1987; company became the part of Glasstream Group.
