Mainship Boats Company was established in the year 1930 by German immigrant named Henry Luhrs. He started marine trade by supplying ships and yachts in New York City harbors and hiss grandson was also called Henry who was also fond of ships. They continued the family heritage by repairing and producing boats on the coast of New Jersey which later led to the formation of small yard in Morgan, New Jersey. Since then, Henry Luhrs Sea Skiff Company grew and Henry’s sons named Warren and John also got involved in the company for producing more than 1200 boats annually. In the year 1965, Bangor Punta, a large timber company gave Henry the offer which was refused.
